4th Grade Ski Trip

Andrew had his first skiing experience today. The 4th graders went up to Snowbasin for the day. They gave them 2 hours of lesson then let them play. He went down Odie, a run with a lot of jumps. He enjoyed the chair lift as well. He also said he figured out his own way to slow down by crouching and pushing on the back of his skis. He would stop by putting his hands in the snow, and turn by crouching down and leaning from side to side.
When I picked him up at the school, I asked if he wanted to go again: He said, "yeah but not anytime soon." When Kevin asked he said: "No." But then changed his answer to "not today."
He is very tired now and complaining about a sore knee. It is probably just tired from being on it all day on skis.
Neither of us could go up with him so we did not get any pictures. Sorry I missed out on those.

Short

Our Cutie has such fine hair that it is constantly full of static. It also has just a little bit of natural curl to it. Most of the natural curl is in the back, and the sides are straight. It does not hold curl very well because it is so fine. The only way it really looked good was in pig tails or when she would let me braid it in double french braids. Otherwise, because of the partial natural curl, it always looked scraggly and half done. My solution was to have it cut into a bob. For some reason, the sides of her hair don't grow as fast as the back, so cutting it made everything the same length. Kevin was sad and said that he could not believe I would do that to his little girl. I think it looks a lot better. Hopefully now, it will grow in thicker.

What Parents Can't Do

They can't vacuum a room all by themselves. Especially if our Cutie is anywhere near by when you start. She is so cute, but vacuuming takes about 3 times as long.

Getting Back to Life

It is so hard to get back into a routine after long breaks. Christmas break went by so fast this year. I think it had to do with the fact that school did not get out until the 23rd. Kevin also took a few days off and so it was a great holiday season. We got to visit with the Jorgensens while there were here for a short visit. It was great to see them again. (Sorry, I did not think to take any pictures while they were here.)
So the boys went back to school yesterday, and already this year I had to drive A back to school to get some homework he left there. What we don't do for our children. The roads were so bad, we were slipping all over the place. I called Kevin and told him he better find a ride home, because I was not going out again. Luckily he did. Thanks Kevin. I love you.
Our Cutie is having a hard time readjusting to not having her brothers here. Yesterday and today, she has cried almost nonstop, no matter what I do. I hope she adjusts quickly, so I can also get back on a schedule.
